The leader of the Alabama State Task Force on Illegal Gambling abruptly resigned last week after he won US$2,300 at a casino in neighboring Mississippi. David Barber, appointed to lead the task force by Republican Governor Bob Riley, turned in his resignation after citing the potential political fallout that could come from an anti-gambling crusader winning money in a legal casino game in a nearby state.
