Hoyt Corkins, the poker pro easily identifiable by his black cowboy hat, sunglasses and quiet demeanor, took down the second World Poker Tour title of his career when he defeated young pro Jonathan Kantor at the US$10,000 buy-in Southern Poker Championship and added another US$739,486 to his career tournament winnings. Mr. Corkins has been a staple during the eight seasons of the WPT. His victory at the Beau Rivage casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, was his fourteenth cash and his fifth final table since the series started in 2002.
